Insignia Financial has bolstered its cyber risk group as it moves to increases its cyber skills to better ward off attacks.
James Ng has been appointed general manager of cyber security, reporting to Frank Lombardo, the chief operating and technology officer.
Ng will be responsible for leading the group's cyber security people and capabilities.
This includes ongoing cyber security risk management and governance as well as security compliance activities in a dynamic external environment.
Ng joins with more than 15 years of experience in technology and information security-focused roles across several organisations, including Telstra, Belong, Tabcorp and Deloitte.
Most recently, he was the general manager of security operations at AARNet (Australia Academic and Research Network), where he led teams responsible for establishing cyber governance.
He also managed a security operations centre to protect the education and research sector, focussing on Australian universities.
