Industry veteran joins Magellan board

Former First Sentier Investors investment chief David Dixon has been appointed deputy chair of Magellan's asset management business.

Magellan said he would join the main Magellan board in due course.

The industry veteran has had 30 years of experience in investment and funds management, having worked as chief investment officer-equities for First Sentier from 2013 to 2020.

Dixon - a member of Aware Super's investment committee -  spent nearly eight years at IAG Asset Management as its chief investment officer.

Earlier, he worked at Westpac as head of corporate research.

Magellan chairman, Robert Fraser, said the board welcomes Dixon's extensive experience as a senior investment leader, company director and trustee.

"His deep investment experience will be invaluable to the Magellan group, and we look forward to his contribution."
