Industry fund adds to board

Rest has appointed high-profile Joanne Lester to the board as an employer representative nominated by the Australian Retailers Association.

Lester, who served as an alternate director for six years, joins from Wesfarmers.

During her 26-year career with the Peth-based conglomerate, she was the superannuation and remuneration reporting manager.

She also worked on special projects like supporting  structural changes in super following corporate acquisitions and divestments.

Rest chair Ken Marshman said Lester's extensive experience with superannuation and her familiarity with the $57 billion super fund's strategy was valuable.

"Her deep understanding of corporate superannuation, the retail industry, and broader human resources environments further deepen the expertise within the Rest board," he added.

The appointment follows the departure of Catriona Noble in late March following her appointment to a full-time role with Australia Post.
