IFM adds Ming Long to the board

The industry super-owned IFM Investors has invited the chair of AMP Capital Funds Management to join the board as IFM continues to strengthen its private markets experience and grow its global presence

Ming Long has had a long career as an executive of listed and unlisted companies, including fund managers, as well as significant board experience, with a strong track record in leadership, strategy, finance and governance.

Long was previously the group executive of Investa Property Group. Earlier she was at APN News & Media as the group financial controller.

She is the chair of Diversity Council Australia and on the board of QBE Insurance and the Committee for Economic Development of Australia.

IFM acknowledged the value of Long's multi-asset class expertise and deep knowledge of international private markets, finance and global strategy.

IFM chair Greg Combet said Long's extensive understanding of private markets, alongside her international experience, will be a great asset to IFM.

"Ming also has a strong commitment to inclusion and diversity as well as a deep interest in ESG issues, particularly climate, all of which will add to the current strength of the IFM Board."

Commenting on her appointment, Long said IFM's heritage and purpose are distinct in the global funds management industry.

Established more than 25 years ago by a group of Australian industry pension funds, IFM invests on behalf of more than 600 institutional investors globally.
