Industry stalwart Mark Stubbings has been elevated to a newly created role that focuses on building momentum for the firm's life insurance option.

Up until this appointment, Stubbings worked as iExtend's Queensland distribution manager promoting the collaborative nature of iExtend across licensees and advice practices.

He has specialised in financial services in Australia and New Zealand, working in several licensees, financial advice and product provider roles.

He worked at Sunsuper for five years and 12 months at Aware Super, where he designed, launched and further developed their respective offers to the IFA market.

Earlier in his career, he was state manager for Comminsure and Queensland general manager for ANZ Wealth Management.

Commenting on his promotion, iExtend chief executive David Sarkis noted Stubbing's long career in insurance and his capacity to engage and bring the industry together on key issues.

"We look forward to expanding on these strengths in his new role and building on the collaborative nature of our offering," he said.

iExtend offers a no-cost life insurance option for Australians to retain some cover for their beneficiaries.

Launched in March, the firm allows those who have decided to cancel or reduce their Life insurance to retain interest on the co-owned portion at no extra cost.

Put simply, they co-own a life policy without paying future premium payments on the co-owned policy that they planned to cancel.

"We take a collaborative approach with our offer and work with all the stakeholders in a life insurance policy, including the policyholder, the adviser and the insurer," said Sarkis.
