The Australian Council of Superannuation Investors (ACSI) has announced that AustralianSuper CEO, Ian Silk, will become its third president, effective August 2017.

Silk was appointed as a director of the ACSI board in February 2017 and will replace current president, Gerard Noonan of Media Super, whose term expires in August.

ACSI has also announced that Antony Thow, chief operating office at LUCRF, will become deputy president, replacing Trish Donohue of Cbus.

Commenting on the changes, ACSI CEO, Louise Davidson, said: "We are delighted to have Ian and Antony take on these key roles for ACSI. Both of them have demonstrated a strong commitment to the work we do in seeking to improve the environmental, social and governance performance of listed companies."

Silk added: "Building retirement savings pools for members requires strong returns over decades, not just years, putting ESG issues - including strong corporate governance, climate change, other environmental issues, health and safety, and labour rights in the supply chain - as key determinants of the future operating environment."
