HESTA chief to lead ACSI board

HESTA chief executive Debby Blakey has been named the incoming president of the Australian Council of Superannuation Investors (ACSI). She replaces Ian Silk, who is stepping down alongside his announced retirement from AustralianSuper.

Blakey said she's excited to take on the new role and is particularly interested in ACSI's work in promoting ESG issues. "Managing ESG issues helps protect the retirement savings of superfund members into the future. Investors and companies must work together to tackle significant long-term investment risks, including climate change, corporate governance, and gender diversity," she said.

Blakey has been HESTA CEO since 2015 and has been with the industry fund for nearly 13 years.
