HESTA has announced the appointment of Sally Collins as chief financial officer replacing Megan Bolton who left the fund in January.

Collins joins the $68 billion industry fund from Victorian Funds Management Corporation (VFMC), where she served as chief operating officer.

There, she led finance and tax as well as investment operations, data and analytics, and technology.

Before VFMC, Collins held several senior positions within the National Australia Bank, Commonwealth Bank, and AXA.

Most recently at National Austalia Bank, she served as general manager of consumer lending for the business and private bank.

Earlier, she served as executive manager of customer understanding at Colonial First State.

HESTA chief executive Debby Blakey welcomed the appointment explaining that at the health workers fund, the CFO's role is broad encompassing finance, tax, legal, and projects.

"Sally is a seasoned financial services executive with experience leading diverse portfolios including recent experience leading a finance function along with other key operational enabling functions," she said.

"Given the breadth of the CFO role, Sally will bring thought leadership and a strong commercial focus to enable the success of these functions at a pivotal time in our transformation journey. We are delighted to have her join the HESTA executive team.

"I look forward to the contribution she will make to both our executive leadership team and the whole organisation."

Collins said she is excited to join HESTA to use her extensive skills and experience and continue to support the fund to make a real difference to the financial future of every member.

She was recently appointed chair of Autism Awareness Australia
