GPT CEO to step down

Michael Cameron is to step down as CEO and managing director of The GPT Group (GPT) after six years, to take on the role of group CEO and managing director of Suncorp. Cameron has been a non-executive director of Suncorp since April 2012 and succeeds Patrick Snowball who departs the top job in October.

Cameron has over 30 years' experience in finance and business having held senior executive roles including chief financial officer at St. George Bank; group executive, retail banking services, group chief financial officer and deputy chief financial officer at Commonwealth Bank; and chief financial officer and then chief operating officer for the wealth management division of NAB.

GPT group chairman Rob Ferguson said an internal succession process to find a replacement for Cameron has been under way for some time.
