The Goldman Sachs Group has announced that Nick Sims, of the Australian team, has been made a partner, effective 1 January 2017.
He is currently head of mergers and acquisitions for Goldman Sachs Australia, a role he has held since 2008. Prior to that he worked at UBS as an executive director.
Sims is joined by 83 other individuals who were also named as partners of the firm and is the only Australian based employee to have been promoted in this cycle.
Commenting on the appointments, Goldman Sachs chair and CEO, Lloyd C. Blankfein, said: "These appointments recognise some of the firm's most senior professionals and acknowledge their commitment to our franchise, people, culture and values."
"We congratulate all those selected and look forward to their continued strong performance, contributions and leadership in the months and years ahead."
