GM Business Development & Marketing departs StatePlus following First State Super integration

First State Super has announced it will fully integrate its financial advice business, StatePlus, and that James Panaretos, general manager, business development & marketing will depart as a result of the integration.

Panaretos joined StatePlus as general manager, business development in 2014 and was appointed to his most recent role in 2015.

Also leaving StatePlus is general manager, financial planning, Andrew Vogt.

StatePlus CEO, Graeme Arnott, who has been appointed deputy CEO at First State Super, said of both departees: "James and Andrew have played important executive roles in the evolution and growth of our award-winning financial advice business. I have valued their counsel and leadership and thank them for their outstanding contribution."

First State Super CEO Deanne Stewart said of the integration: "Providing quality financial advice is a key differentiator of the value we offer to our members and to fully realise the opportunity presented through our acquisition of StatePlus, our businesses will now integrate."

First State Super has also announced the retirement of chief operating officer, Guy McAliece - who will be succeeded by new COO Jo Brennan - and the departure of chief digital officer, Mary Murphy.
