Global Head of Fixed Income steps down at Janus Henderson

Janus Henderson has confirmed to Industry Moves the departure of global head of fixed income, Kumar Palghat, effective August 2017.

Palghat steps down after six months in the role, with the firm citing family reasons for his departure.

A spokesperson for the firm said: "Given the significant travel required between Sydney, London and Denver, [Palghat] decided it would be best for his family and him if he returned to his role within the Kapstream Capital organisation in Australia."

Palghat co-founded Kapstream Capital in 2006 and the firm was acquired by Janus in 2015. He will return to Kapstream Capital as a portfolio manager.

Replacing Palghat as global head of fixed income is Jim Cielinski who will be based in the firm's London headquarters, effective November 1 2017.

The spokesperson added: "The changes have no impact to the team's investment philosophy, the way [Janus Henderson] conducts research or manages fixed income portfolios."
