Gara departs Morningstar

Former AdviserLogic founder and chief executive Daniel Gara has departed Morningstar, the organisation that purchased AdviserLogic at the end of 2019.

Said Gara, "After well over a decade, it is time for me to find my next challenge! I still have a few weeks left to thank the colleagues and clients who made my experience so successful and enjoyable!"

Gara spent 13 years with AdviserLogic as head of product development and, beginning in 2017, chief executive officer. Before founding the financial advice client management system, Gara was himself a financial adviser with PF Services.

In comments to Financial Standard, Morningstar Australasia managing director Jamie Wickham thanked Gara for his contributions. "As we gear up to take our financial planning solutions to the next level, Daniel felt the timing was right to hand over the reins to the expanded financial planning team at Morningstar," Wickham said.

"Over the last 18 months, we have made great strides - investing heavily in the business, bringing on over 60 new people, and fully integrating AdviserLogic into our financial planning solutions. Our plans to bring the best of Morningstar to the software are progressing well, and there is much more to come."
