Future Super, the superannuation fund that has excluded fossil fuels from its portfolios, has hired Shenphen Ringpapontsang as head of risk.

Ringpapontsang joins from the Commonwealth Bank, where he served as executive manager of operational risk.

In that role, he led the operational risk team for one of the country's largest remediation programs following the Hayne royal commission into misconduct in the financial services sector.

The risk specialist also oversaw the delivery of the strategic assurance program for a portfolio of unique businesses, including CBA's start-up incubator, M&A and customer advocacy.

Before working at Australia's largest bank, he spent nearly four years as a senior manager and director of the Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation.

Ringpapontsang started his career in financial services at EY as a senior consultant in 2014.

He goes on to say  that as child of Tibetan refugees and one of only a few Asian Australians in a leadership position in the superannuation industry.
