Future Fund hires from ESSSuper

ESSSuper head of investment strategy Zong Aw will leave the $29 billion superfund after just four months in the new role.

Aw is expected to land at the Future Fund in a similar position.

The investment professional first joined ESSuper as an investment manager in 2018 to help oversee the fund's accumulation assets.

He was responsible for driving the investment strategy for the accumulation fund, including asset allocation, portfolio construction and manager selection.

Aw joined the superannuation fund for emergency workers for Victorian emergency services and state government employees from Frontier Advisors.

Here, he was a consultant to several superannuation funds and a member of the equity manager research team.

Before that, he worked as a consultant at Ernst & Young in the transfer pricing team.

Earlier, he worked as a tutor at Melbourne University.
