Victorian Funds Management Corporation has hired a principal consultant from Frontier Advisers.

Frontier principal consultant Kuek Chyuan Low has left to take up a role at the asset owner - a very well-trodden path for investment professionals  from the super fund-owned asset consultant.

KC ,as he is known has joined VFMC as a senior portfolio manager.

Low worked at Frontier for 12 years and was promoted to principal just six months ago.

His responsibilities at Frontier included providing analytical support to clients, asset allocation advice, as well as investment research.

Low was also a member of Frontier's capital markets and asset allocation team.

He joined from Fairfax Media where he worked as a research and valuation analyst for BRW Magazine.

His responsibilities included researching and valuing assets for the title's various articles and lists.

These include the BRW Rich 200, Executive Rich and Young Rich list.

Before that, he interned in the advisory division of PwC.

Frontier recruitment lead David May said:"When someone leaves Frontier Advisers, we all wish them the best, the mark of a great firm is not how you join but how you leave."

"Last week we had a leaving party for KC and it was one of the most genuine "we wish you well, you wish us well" breakups I've been to," he posted on social media.

"He was clearly valued for his character and intellect, and he valued Frontier for the opportunity and support provided."
