Former William Blair Head of Distribution joins Deutsche AM

Deutsche Asset Management has recently announced the appointment of Alex François as director of sales, asset management in the Global Client Group (GCG), Australia and New Zealand, effective December 2017.

Based in Sydney, François focusses on Deutsche AM's public markets capabilities, including equities and multi asset capabilities and reports to Lidia Tomova, head of GCG, Australia and New Zealand.

François has more than 25 years' experience in sales and distribution roles across institutional and wholesale markets. Most recently, he was head of institutional distribution, Australia & New Zealand at William Blair Investment Management - a role he left in November 2017 - where he was responsible for establishing the investment business in Australia, New Zealand and more broadly, Asia covering global equities, emerging markets and multi asset capabilities.

Prior to this, he held senior positions at Provident Capital, Principal Global investors Australia, Schroders and ING NZ.
