Former QSuper economist joins Cbus

Cbus has confirmed the appointment of Alex Cathcart as portfolio integration manager in the investment strategy division, based in the fund's Melbourne office, effective 5 December 2016.

Cathcart joins from QSuper where he worked as an economist providing portfolio manager support.

In his new role, Cathcart will be working with Cbus towards implementing a "total portfolio" approach for portfolio construction, as opposed to managing asset allocation and each asset class portfolio independently. He will ensure that both "top-down" and "bottom-up" insights inform the design of the whole portfolio, including asset allocation and asset class configurations.

Commenting on his appointment, executive manager, investment strategy, Kristian Fok, said:" We are delighted to have someone of Alex's calibre joining Cbus. His skills and experience will be an asset as Cbus continues to grow its in-house investment capacity."
