Former Nikko operations head joins First Sentier

First Sentier Investors, formerly Colonial First State Global Asset Management, has confirmed the appointment of Rob Scott as chief operating officer, effective June 2019.

In this role, Scott has global responsibility for the firm's operations, IT and data management.

A spokesperson for First Sentier said that Scott will spend his first six months as COO based in Sydney, where he will get to know the business and build relationships with key stakeholders, after which he will permanently be based in Hong Kong.

Scott was previously head of global operations at Nikko Asset Management in Tokyo and has also held roles at Deutsche Asset Management and BNP Paribas Securities Services across the Asia region.
