First State Super has confirmed the departure of employer representative director, Gary Thomas, as part of a board renewal that includes the replacement of three retiring (by rotation) directors.

Thomas, a director of First State Super since 2015, was appointed by the Victorian Healthcare Association. He has been replaced by Tom Symondson.

The two other retiring directors are member representative Lisa Fitzpatrick, nominated by the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation, who has been replaced by Pip Carew, and employer representative Trevor Carr, nominated by Leading Age Services Australia, who has been replaced by Glenn Bunney.

In paying tribute to the departees, First State Super chair, Neil Cochrane, said: "Trevor, Lisa and Gary have provided an unwavering commitment and service to our fund and our members in overseeing our governance process and contributing to the important work of the board. I have appreciated their support and efforts to ensure our members best interests have been met."
