First State Super has confirmed the appointment of new employer representative director, Glenn Bunney, effective 1 July 2018.

Bunney, who was nominated by Leading Age Services Australia (LASA), is the CEO of Sundale, a not-for-profit community organisation providing retirement communities and aged-care services on Queensland's Sunshine Coast.

Bunney is a former director of LASA and a former chair of International Homes and Services for the Ageing. He has also served on the boards of IFM Investors Group, Industry Super Property Trust and HESTA Super.

He is joined at First State Super by fellow new board-appointees, Tom Symondson and Pip Carew. They replace, respectively, retiring directors, Trevor Carr, Gary Thomas and Lisa Fitzpatrick.

First State Super chair, Neil Cochrane, said of the changes: "Ongoing board renewal provides an opportunity for us to capture new perspectives and insights to help us maintain our focus on the things that matter to our members and employers. I am confident we have the right mix of skill and experience around our board table to further our efforts in meeting our members' needs and contributing to a better future for all Australians."
