First Sentier Investors appoints third director

First Sentier Investors has appointed Suspie Rippingall as their third independent non-executive director.

The Hong Kong-based Rippingall joins Michelle Tredenick and Richard Waistcoat on the board. "Her extensive experience s both a portfolio manager and independent director make her ideally suited to the role," said First Sentior Investors chair Sunao Yokokawa. "We know she will add significant value to the Board with her strong understanding of corporate governance best practice and unique insight into the Asian investment management sector."

Rippingall is currently on several boards, including Aberdeen New Dawn Investment Trust Limited, NTAsian Discovery Fund, and NT Asian Emerging Leaders Fund.

She was previously a portfolio manager at the Scottish Oriental Smaller Cos. Trust PLC and with First STate Investments in Hong Kong.
