Fidelity International has announced the appointment of John Meagher as head of institutional.

Prior to that, he worked in a business development role at Fidelity International and in sales roles at Invesco and Macquarie Bank.

At Fidelity, he succeeds Warwick Boys, who departed in May 2018 after three and a half years as head of institutional business.

Another key hire for Fidelity's institutional team is Katie Constance, who has been appointed as associate director, client relationship management and will commence with the firm in July.

Commenting, Fidelity managing director, Alva Devoy, said: "The institutional market is becoming increasingly sophisticated as the Australian superannuation system matures and more people reach retirement. As asset managers, we need to adapt to the evolving needs of our clients and we are actively building our team to enable us to do that."
