Fidelity appoints Director of Wholesale Sales

Fidelity International (Fidelity) has announced the appointment of Andrew Mathie as director of wholesale sales, Australia.

In this role, Mathie will be responsible for the overall strategy for the firm's wholesale sales team and will work directly with Alva Devoy, managing director of Fidelity Australia.

Mathie has nearly 20 years' experience in the asset management industry, and most recently spent 12 months as a senior key account manager at Vanguard Investments Australia, responsible for managing a portfolio of banking & wealth clients across multiple segments.

Prior to that, Mathie was the division director for the banking and financial services group at Macquarie Group.

In welcoming Mathie to Fidelity, Devoy said: "Andrew has acquired a wealth of knowledge through his various sales and leadership roles and we are confident that he has the right skills and experience to provide strategic direction and leadership to Fidelity's Wholesale business in Australia."

Mathie added: "I am thrilled to become a part of the highly talented team at Fidelity. I believe that Fidelity International's investment solutions are truly world class and I look forward to working closely with Alva and the Wholesale team to continue growing its business in this market and providing exceptional service to our clients."

A spokesperson for Vanguard has confirmed that no appointment has been made to replace Mathie at this stage.
