Equip has announced the appointment of Natalie Alford as executive officer, governance and risk, effective 8 November 2017.
In this role, Alford will lead the $14 billion industry fund's governance, risk, legal and company secretarial functions.
She joins Equip from industry regulator, APRA, where she was a manager in the specialised institutions division, leading analysts in the prudential supervision and risk assessment of large and complex industry funds.
Commenting on her appointment, Equip CEO, Nick Vamvakas, said: "Natalie brings a deep and comprehensive understanding of the superannuation industry and regulatory environment. She has an outstanding capability and reputation for cultivating and maintaining relationships at executive and board level and has specialised in building and leading multi-functional teams."
He added: "Her unique and contemporary skills and experience will bring new perspectives and insights to our executive and board thinking about strategies for success within the increasingly complex superannuation sector."
This role is newly-created with role responsibilities previously held by the chief risk officer. Vamvakas held this role before he was promoted to CEO.
