ESG head appointed at Maple-Brown Abbott

Maple-Brown Abbott has appointed Emma Pringle as their head of ESG, a maternity leave cover for Natasha McKean.

Pringle spent nearly 14 years with BT in a variety of roles, lastly as head of customer governance and sustainability. She is also the co-chair of the Australian Sustainable Finance Initiative (ASFI) working group on meeting community and consumer expectations.

Maple-Brown Abbott's investments chief Garth Rossler said, "As a value manager in Australian and Asian equities with a long term investment horizon, responsible investment is an integral part of our decision-making and in particular our position as a long only, long term investor engaging with the Board and management of portfolio companies.

"Emma will continue to develop and maintain our commitment to responsible investing. She will be focusing on the firm's ESG policies and the application of this within the Australian and Asian equities strategy while Natasha is on maternity leave."
