Equity Trustees has recruited a former Vanguard finance director as its chief financial officer starting in July.
This appointment of Johanna Platt follows the decision by the current chief financial officer and chief operating officer, Philip Gentry, to step down from the role.
Platt has over 25 years of experience working with or leading finance teams.
The independent specialist trustee company called her a "collaborative and commercial" CFO with multi-industry sector experience and a proven track record.
Platt is currently the interim finance chief at the superannuation fund-owned ISPT and is responsible for the finance, procurement, insurance, tax, treasury and valuation functions.
Before that, she served as chief financial officer for Vanguard Australia, where she led the Australian 200-person finance function and was part of the executive team that set up the firm's superannuation business. She resigned at the end of 2022.
At Vanguard, she also led the operational team responsible for providing fund accounting, administration and transfer agency services for managed funds, exchange-traded funds, and separately managed products.
Before arriving there in 2017, Platt worked in consumer goods, logistics and retail sectors.
Equity Trustees managing director Mick O'Brien said: "Johanna brings an exceptional suite of skills to EQT and our growing business. We warmly welcome Johanna to Equity Trustees and I look forward to working alongside her."
