Equity Trustees has announced that non-executive director Anne O'Donnell will retire after 12 years on the board.

She joined the board in 2010 and held a number of roles during her 12-year tenure including chair of the responsibility entity compliance committee and member of the board risk committee and remuneration, human resources and nomination committee.

In 2000, O'Donnell spent nine years as head of Australian Ethical in 2000.

Before that she worked at ANZ for 20 years and was a staff elected director of the ANZ Staff Superannuation Fund.

Currently, she sits on the Spirit Super board.

She was previously a director with Financial Services Council.

"On behalf of the board, I wish to thank Anne for her significant contribution to our board over the last 12 years," said Equity Trustees chair Carol Schwartz.

"Her experience and genuine interest in this unique company has meant she has been able to offer valuable insights and perspectives around the board table. On behalf of the board, I wish her well and all the best for the future."

A replacement will not be appointed, bringing the total number of directors on its board to seven
