Downes joins AustralianSuper investment committee

Pippa Downes, who currently sits on several boards including the Zip Co and Sport Australia, has joined the investment committee at Australian Super.

She was appointed by the ACTU Super Shareholding Pty and Ai Group in mid-February, replacing Stephanie Weston, who joined HESTA as head of portfolio design.

During her executive career, Downes was a managing director and equity partner in the Goldman Sachs JB Were partnership in Australia. She was also the head of equity derivative trading at Deutsche Bank in Sydney and held senior roles at Morgan Stanley in Hong Kong and UBS Investment Bank.

Downes has been primarily focused on directorships since 2011, sitting on the board of The Pinnacle Foundation and the ASX Clearing and Settlement Corporation.
