Desktop Broker, the adviser trading platform owned by Bell Financial, has hired a new sales and key account manager.

The appointment of Ryan Davis reflects the increase in demand advisers have for efficient and cost-effective ASX execution said Desktop.

Davis joins from Zurich International Life in Dubai, where he was responsible for managing relationships with wealth management and insurance brokerages.

Before that, he did a seven-year stint with Brisbane-based Automotive Holdings Group as a senior finance and insurance manager.

"As we position the business to support the growing needs of the Australian advice community, Ryan will help our clients utilise the benefits of our trading services and assist in the expansion of our individual HIN-based managed accounts service," said Bell Direct chief executive Arnie Selvarajah.

"It's great to have Ryan join the team and strengthen the support we offer to financial advisers, especially as the industry faces increased scrutiny and change," said Bell Direct's head of distribution and marketing, Tim Sparks.

Meantime, Richard Carr has departed Desktop where he was a senior sales executive to join AMG Super

AMG chief executive Alan Hegerty called the addition of Carr to the AMG Super distribution team a significant milestone for the super fund. "With the launch of our new Acclaim Super product and significant projects in the pipeline, we are excited about what the future holds."
