COO named for Yarra Capital Management

At the completion of the management buyout of Goldman Sachs Asset Management's (GSAM) Australian funds management platform and investment capabilities, it has been announced that Brett Davidson will take the reins as the new firm's chief operating officer.

Davidson will join from Victorian Funds Management Corporation (VFMC) where he is also chief operating officer.

A spokesperson has confirmed that the buyout is on track for completion at the end of December 2016 and that the firm will be rebranded as Yarra Capital Management.

In his new role at Yarra Capital Management, Davidson will join former Future Fund head, Mark Burgess, who takes on the role of independent chair; Dion Hershan, as managing director and head of equities; Katie Hudson, as head of Australian equities research; and small cap PM and Roy Keenan, as head of fixed income and multi-sector.
