Contango appoints Head of Retail

Contango Asset Management (ASX: CGA) has appointed Damian Craven as one of two new additions to the firm's distribution team.

Craven's appointment, as head of retail, and that of fellow new-recruit Alistair Dunne, coincides with CGA's launch of the WCM Quality Global Growth Fund, an exchange traded managed fund (ETMF) to be managed by Californian-based WCM Investment Management.

In an announcement to the ASX, CGA said that the "recent recruitment by CGA of a deeply experienced distribution team in Damian Craven and Alistair Dunne [will] support the advice market and further strengthen Contango's distribution strategy. The investment in a distribution team, together with the launch of the ETMF and the acquisition of the shares in the SAML, are key initiatives for CGA to achieve its strategic and growth objectives."

Craven was previously the head of retail distribution at K2 Asset Management, a role he commenced in January 2017. Before that, he was a key accounts director at Magellan Financial Group.
