Michael Thorneycroft has left Vanguard Australia after nearly eight years with the organisation. He joined as a PR and communications specialist in 2013 and later became a senior manager of corporate communications. In February of last year, Thorneycroft moved into a senior business consultant role, supporting the establishment of Vanguard's superannuation business.
A spokesperson for Vanguard confirmed Thorneycroft's departure and said there are no plans at present to replace his role.
Before joining Vanguard, Thorneycroft held agency roles at Kreab Worldwide to manage stakeholder relations and develop communication strategies. He was also a senior media and pulbi affairs specialist for the National Gallery of Victoria.
Thorneycroft announced his departure on LinkedIn, sharing a photo of his worn ID card. "Like the card itself, I'm showing some visible signs of age at the end of this chapter in my career. It was filled with experiences more rewarding and challenging than I ever imagined possible- and I'm grateful for all of it.
"My sincere thanks to all the incredible people I worked with."
In comments to Industry Moves, Thorneycroft says he's moved out of financial services and has taken a position leading external communications and investor relations with the Reece Group.
