ClearView hires inaugural chief of staff

Listed life insurance company ClearView Wealth has recruited a former Bank of Queensland executive business manager to the newly created chief of staff role.

Reporting to ClearView managing director Nadine Gooderick, Sharon Leong will work with the executive leadership team to oversee the strategy and business plan.

Leong will also provide business management and advisory support to the leadership team.

Before working at Queensland lender, where she worked for the retail banking head, Leong held several senior positions within Westpac Group, including running the office for the head of strategy and business and for the general manager of platforms and investments at BT Financial Group.

"Sharon is a respected financial services leader with extensive experience in strategy and business planning," Gooderick said.

"She has excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills and will help drive strategic outcomes as we work towards achieving our FY26 goals."

Leong - who has a legal and accounting background - added: "ClearView is a dynamic company that has gone through a period of simplification and transformation and continues to grow and expand.

"I am excited to join the business at this pivotal stage of its journey to support Nadine and the leadership team."

As of June 30 2023, ClearView had $305.9 million in inforce life insurance premiums.

Further, in FY23, the group reported a 41 per cent increase in underlying net profit after tax of $36.5 million and a 25 per cent increase in new business to $25.2 million.
