Citi has tapped Cristina Chang to lead the markets business in Australia and New Zealand.
This is a promotion for Chang, who will relocate to Sydney to take up the new role of developing Citi's markets franchise in the region.
She replaces Mark Woodruff who was appointed Citi Australia chief executive in 2023.
Chang has more than 20 years of industry experience and currently serves as head of asset-backed financing for spread products in Asia North, Australia and South Asia.
She will retain her existing role alongside her new position.
Before joining Citi 16 years ago, Chang was an associate director at BNP Paribas Hong Kong for over four years.
Before that, she was a lawyer at Mallesons Stephen Jaques based in Sydney.
Commenting on her appointment, Chang said she is "excited" to be returning to Australia to lead the business.
"We have a strong understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing Markets clients in the current environment and are uniquely positioned to deliver Citi's global and local Markets offering and insights to clients."
Woodruff added: "Cristina brings a wealth of experience from her current role.
"Her appointment demonstrates our commitment to grow and invest in the Australian and New Zealand franchise."
