Citi adds familiar face to economics team

Citi Australia has added Faraz Syed to its economics research team as a senior economist.

Syed comes from Moody's Analytics, where he produced thematic analysis on domestic macroeconomic issues and country forecasts for Australia, Japan, and India. He was also a regular contributor to news reports on Australia's housing market, having led the economic modelling for Core Logic-Moody's Analytics' Australian housing model.

Citi Australia/NZ MD and head of research, Craig Woolford, says adding Syed to the team will help the organisation provide more tailored insights on the implications of global financial market movements in Australia.

"Client demand for deeper insights about key macro-economic influences continues to grow in this low interest rate environment. We look forward to Faraz's experience strengthening our research insights at Citi", said Woolford.

Before joining Moody's, Syed was a research economist at the Australian Bureau of Agricultural Resources, Economics, and Sciences.
