LGIAsuper has confirmed the departure of long-serving chief operating officer, Timothy Wilmington, effective 27 July 2018.

Wilmington joined the now-$12 billion fund in 1989 following three years at QSuper. He was appointed to the role of COO in 2006, with responsibility for LGIAsuper's administration, insurance, relationship management, business development, member and employer servicing, and the provision of general and personal advice.

Commenting on his almost three decades of service, a spokesperson for the fund said: "Wilmington was a long-standing employee of LGIAsuper and provided an unwavering commitment and service to our fund and our members. Willmington has departed the organisation to pursue new opportunities and we wish him well."

Wilmington's successor is Eleanor Noonan, who will take on the role of COO in addition to her responsibilities as chief of people and culture, a role she was appointed to in November 2017 following two years as head of human resources.
