Chief Information Officer to join IOOF

IOOF has announced the appointment of Sharam Hekmat as the firm's new chief information officer, based in Melbourne.

He joins with over 25 years' IT experience, including senior management positions with Aviva Australia, Kodak Australasia, Nortel Australia, Pragsoft Corporation, and most recently with Ezidebit.

Commenting on his appointment, IOOF managing director, Christopher Kelaher, said: "Sharam will be leading our IT team as we continue to focus on the delivery of improved functionality and a better user experience across our platforms, portals and online accounts."

"His experience in successfully delivering large-scale IT projects will help ensure we continue to be able to offer better ways for advisers - and clients - to securely manage their investments."

Hekmat succeeds former chief information officer, Andrew Todd, who left the role in November 2016 to take up a position with IRESS.
