Chester adds research firepower

The high conviction equities fund manager Chester Asset Management has welcomed Malhar Ravalia to its Melbourne investment team.

The recruit has a decade of experience working in financial services, including eight years as an acquisitions analyst at Satterley Property Group.

Before working at Satterley, Ravalia worked as a consultant at SGS Economics and Planning.

Speaking on the new appointment, Chester managing director and portfolio manager Rob Tucker said that Ravalia's appointment bolstered the number of people in the investment team four.

"With his deep technical and analytical skills, we are confident that Malhar will make a significant contribution to our investment strategy and our ability to continue to deliver strong returns to our clients."

Ravalia joins Chester at a time of increasing interest in the Chester High Conviction Fund, particularly among Australian financial advisers and direct investors. The fund is a concentrated Australian equity strategy fund that won Money Magazine's Best Australian Shares Fund for 2023.

The Chester High Conviction Fund strategy, managed by the Chester team, has outperformed its benchmark by 6.7 per cent per year net of fees since its inception in October 2013.
