Charter Hall Social Infrastructure REIT has appointed Kate Melrose as an independent director for CQE, Charter Hall Social Infrastructure Limited.

Melrose has significant real estate and property experience, having held marketing and sales roles for Lend Lease for more than a decade. She currently holds a directorship and sales GM position with Ingenia Communities Group.

CQE Chair, Grant Hodgetts said he looked forward to Melrose's contributions to the board. "Kate is a well-regarded property executive who will bring a unique perspective to the Board. The Board and I look forward to working with Kate as we continue our strategy to enhance income sustainability and resilience by improving the quality of tenants and leases within the diversified portfolio".

Melrose will replace Victor Cottren, who is retiring from the CHSIL board. "In welcoming Ms Melrose to the Board, I also acknowledge the significant contribution of Vic Cottren," said Hodgetts. "Vic has been a valued member of the responsible entity Board since 2004, including as Chair from 2009 to 2015.
