Charter Hall appoints sole CEO

Charter Hall Group has announced the appointment of David Harrison as chief executive officer and managing director, with David Southon electing to step down as joint managing director following the decision to move to a single chief executive structure.

Harrison will assume the new role immediately, with founder David Southon available to the business for up to 12 months to facilitate a smooth handover.

Commenting on Harrison's appointment, Charter Hall chair David Clarke said: "David's expertise across the entire property value chain and his ability in working with the investment management team to match investor appetite with quality investment products is a great asset for the business."

He added: "David has also been instrumental in driving the customer focused approach to all aspects of the business with the support of the executive team, maintaining a strong partnership approach and continuing to improve Charter Hall's financial performance at both a Group and fund level."
