This week sees three key promotions at two top ASX-listed infrastructure and property investors - a deputy fund manager, a head of real estate securities and a portfolio manager.

After five years, Charter Hall Group's head of social infrastructure has moved from a capital transactions job to a funds management role.

Carla Hayes has been appointed deputy fund manager for the $2.2 billion Charter Hall social infrastructure trust.

"Very well deserved. Looking forward to you joining the team," posted colleague Travid Butcher.

Hayes started at Charter Hall as portfolio manager of valuations and investments before joining the deal-making team.

She joined from Folkstone, where she held a similar role.

Haynes started her career in funds management as a property manager at GE Capital.

The Charter Hall Social Infrastructure REIT is the largest Australian property trust investing in social infrastructure properties within Australia and New Zealand.

Dexus elevates staff

In the meantime, Dexus has announced two key appointments to its real estate securities team - the specialist team that manages listed real estate portfolios invested in Australia, Asia and global markets.

Mark Mazzarella has been promoted to head of real estate securities at the property giant after serving as a portfolio manager for the securities business.

He replaces Pete Morrisey, who is leaving Dexus in July.

However, Mazzarella will remain the portfolio manager for the Dexus Global REIT Fund, supported by portfolio manager David Kruth and the Dexus Asian REIT Fund.

"Mark has worked alongside Pete in the RES business since 2014 and will work closely with him over the coming months to ensure a seamless transition," Dexus said.

Before his almost three years at the property giant, Mazzarella spent seven years at APN Property Group in a similar role.

He has also worked as a senior consultant with EY's real estate advisory services.

"Mark has deep experience managing listed real estate portfolios and has worked in the RES business since 2014.

He will continue to be portfolio manager of Dexus's global and Asian REIT funds," Dexus said.

Also, Mario Saccoccio has joined as a portfolio manager and will focus on managing the Dexus AREIT Fund.

He arrives from SG Hiscock & Company, where he was also a portfolio manager.

Saccoccio has 20 years of experience in REITs, equities and real assets, managing listed, private and third-party capital portfolios.

He will take on the portfolio manager for the Dexus AREIT Fund.

He previously held investment management roles at Baron Corporation and MacArthur Cook.

"We welcome Mario to the team and look forward to our RES business continuing to deliver for investors,"

The appointments follow the arrival of Ross Du Vernet this month as Dexus' new chief executive following the resignation of long-term boss Darren Steinberg late last year.
