Colonial First State Global Asset Management (CFSGAM) has announced the retirement of head of global resources, Joanne Warner, after twenty years with the firm, effective August 2017.

Warner, who leads the global resources team as well as co-managing the global resources fund, is to be succeeded by global resources portfolio manager, Todd Warren, effective 1 July 2017. Warner will continue to support the team during the first month of Warren's appointment to ensure an effective transition.

Warner has over 22 years' investment experience. Prior to her most recent role with CFSGAM, she was the prime portfolio manager for the firm's publicly offered global resources long funds in Australia, UK, Singapore, and Hong Kong. Before this, she was the prime portfolio manager for the firm's internal statutory funds and then for a global resources mandate.

Previously, she was a fund manager with Equitilink, and an analyst with London-based mining specialist broker T Hoare & Co.

Commenting on the change of leadership, CFSGAM's chief investment officer, equities, David Dixon, said: "Joanne has been an outstanding leader of our Global Resources business since 2010 and will soon celebrate both the team's 20th anniversary as well as her own 20 years as a Global Resources portfolio manager with the business. We look forward to this next stage of the team's development under Todd's leadership."

"This is the culmination of a long-standing succession plan, carefully mapped out by Joanne, Todd and me to ensure the team is best placed to successfully manage their portfolios and continue to generate attractive returns for clients post the leadership succession."
