CFS names Fortescue head of insurance

Colonial First State has appointed Adrian Fortescue as its new head of insurance.

Fortescue replaces Scott Moffitt, who moved to NEOS earlier this month.

Most recently the head of group insurance at Munich Re, Fortescue has more than a decade of experience in the insurance industry. He was the group risk pricing manager for Swiss Re's Australian operation and a marketing actuary for Hannover Re.

Interestingly, Fortescue's insurance experiences started as a claims assessor with MLC following several years as a physiotherapist and rehab consultant.

CFS' head of superannuation Kylie Turner said Fortescue is a welcome addition to the team. "CFS plays an important role for members who hold insurance through their superannuation accounts. Last year we supported over 1,400 members paying out $179m in insurance benefits to support individuals nd families in their time of need."
