Centrepoint Alliance appoints Head of Research

Centrepoint Alliance has announced that Miriam Herold will lead its research division as the firm's new head of research.

Herold, who has over 18 years' experience in research, portfolio management and investment analysis roles, joins Centrepoint from IOOF Holdings, where she spent two years as the firm's head of managed fund research, having been promoted from the role of senior research manager for growth assets in June 2016.

Before IOOF Holdings, Herold was a portfolio manager at AMP, focussing on the investment of the Life company's statutory funds in both listed and unlisted assets. She also previously managed Australian equities at boutique manager, Pengana Capital and served as an analyst at J.P. Morgan, CBA, Dresdner Kleinwort, Henderson Global Investors and AMP Capital.

In announcing her appointment, Centrepoint's advice solutions executive, Paul Cullen, said: "Miriam's appointment demonstrates our commitment to investing in people, capabilities and technology so that our advisers are better able to deliver great outcomes for their clients."

Herold added: "I look forward to working with the research team and the broader Centrepoint community to continue bringing market leading solutions to our advisers."

Herold's appointment follows the April 2018 appointment of Angus Benbow as CEO. Benbow was formerly head of Shadforth Financial Group.
