Cbus Super has appointed a new head of infrastructure hiring from Hostplus.

Jordan Kraiten led the infrastructure portfolio at the superannuation fund or the past 11 years.

Before that, he worked at Macquarie Bank, specialising in portfolio strategy and design, portfolio management, execution of new investments and developing a broad range of external relationships.

During his time with the investment banker, he worked in several offices, including Sydney, Houston and New York, predominantly within the risk management division.

The new hire follows the recent appointment of Alexandra Campbell as deputy chief investment officer and head of private markets.

Campbell called Kraiten a key appointment for the investment team.

"Jordan is highly respected across the infrastructure sector, having built a diversified portfolio of quality assets that have delivered strong results for Hostplus members throughout his tenure," she said.

"With around $85 billion in FUM, Cbus is a leading super fund for infrastructure investment in Australia. It's an exciting time at Cbus following the release of our new five-year investment strategy, which continues to focus on driving strong long-term performance."

The deputy chief investment officer added that Kraiten's appointment provides a "dedicated resource" as Cbus Super aims to bring 50 per cent of the fund's assets in-house.
