Angela Thurstans has confirmed to Industry Moves her new role as a risk specialist - governance at the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA), effective October 2019.

In this role, Thurstans will be responsible as a member of the Governance, Culture, Remuneration and Accountability (GCRA) Team for developing and implementing effective prudential framework and supervision strategy to enhance the management of non-financial risks specifically governance, culture and remuneration risks across APRA regulated industries.

She previously spent more than 20 years as head of governance, compliance and risk management at Cbus, and as a member of the $47 billion fund's executive team.

Commenting on her move, she said: "This is a really exciting time to join APRA as we work to lift governance standards across the industry."
