Cbus appoints Head of Property

Cbus, the $43 billion super fund for the construction, building and allied industries, has confirmed to Industry Moves the appointment of Rhonda Spagnol as head of property, effective mid-January 2018.

In this role, Spagnol reports to Grant Harrison, portfolio head of private markets, and is responsible for development and oversight of the property sector. This includes: execution of indirect strategies that use external fund managers, portfolio construction and capital allocation, managing pooled fund exposures, building out an offshore strategy, and working closely with Cbus Property.

Spagnol previously spent 17 years at JANA Investment Advisors, most recently as a senior consultant and co-head of property. Prior to this she was a commercial property valuer at Urbis.

Commenting on her appointment at Cbus, Harrison said: "We are very pleased to have Rhonda on board. Her extensive property and consulting experience means she is a valuable addition not just for the private markets team, but also the broader Cbus investment team."

Spagnol added: "Cbus is at an exciting phase of its internalisation strategy and I am thrilled to be joining the team.
