Canterbury-Bankstown Mayor joins Local Government Super

Local Government Super (LGS) has confirmed to Industry Moves the appointment of Khal Asfour as a director of its board.

Asfour, who joined the $11 billion fund in August 2018, is currently the inaugural mayor of the City of Canterbury-Bankstown. He was first elected as a councillor of the former Bankstown City Council in 2004 and held the role of deputy mayor from 2008 to 2011. He also served as mayor of Bankstown from 2011 to 2014 and again in 2015.

Asfour will also serve on LGS' audit and compliance committee, member services committee, and risk committee.
