Industry super fund, BUSSQ, has announced that its chair, Bob Lette, is stepping down after 33 years' service, effective 31 December 2017.

Lette has served on the board since the fund's inception in 1984 and has been chair of the $4.5 billion fund for the last 27 years.

Commenting on his tenure, BUSSQ CEO, Linda Vickers, said: "Bob has driven an innovative fund. Under his stewardship we've dared to be different and it has paid off, with initiatives including our recent Skylight Financial Solutions. We have also expanded out of our heartland, with new offices already opened in Townsville and Darwin and plans for expansion into southern states well underway."

"We thank him for his contribution and guidance and the forward thinking the board has provided under his leadership, that has allowed the Fund to keep on the front foot during decades of legislative change within the superannuation sector."

Lette added: "I'm extremely proud of my association with BUSSQ. The focus of the Fund is on delivering better outcomes for our members and it's been an honour to contribute to this over so many years."

BUSSQ confirmed that a new chair will be appointed following its December AGM.
